Drew Struzan-style Thor Poster by SkinnyGlasses Drew Struzan-style Thor Poster by SkinnyGlasses
This was just a fun little project.
I've been wanting to create a Struzan styled poster for a long time and I thought Thor would be the best subject, especially with the Asgardians, whom I focused mainly on.

I tried several different ways to replicate the painted look for the pictures and eventually stumbled upon one that worked the best.

Really hope you guys like it!

I really think Thor and Jane should be looking AT each other, instead off in the distance!
Just saw the movie! Amazing!!!

I know, it looks kind of odd with them not looking at each other :P
And yeah :D it really was great!

AWESOME!! I don't mind they looking off. My eye is drawn into the middle where the action is. Filter - paint daubs in PS has worked well for me in the past while trying to replicate that ''painted'' look, maybe worth a try??

I think if I do another paint-looking poster I'll throw that into the mix of layers as well :D
And I'm glad you like it!

The composition and the execution are fantastic. Though I feel it would have been more successful if the pics of Thor and Natalie were shots of them looking at us. Our eyes should be lead back to the center of the image, not off to the sides - which is where their gaze is taking me.

Yeah I understand what you mean. At the moment you trail off with the character's gaze. If I ever do another poster like this I'll be sure to keep a focal point in mind.
Thanks :D that was really useful!
