I've been working hard at college lately, trying to get as much work done as I can (hence why I've been practically dead on here for a while), but now that I actually have a little time to update and what-not, a predicament has occurred. You see, I've created a piece for my graphic design class, for our theme of "Bring Back The 80s" (I hate that title) and personally I think it's particularly good. It's basically the Back to the Future poster recreated for the movie Drive. I've been trying hard since way back to recreate Drew Struzan's art style in photoshop and this is about as close as I've ever gotten. The problem is, I got the idea for the poster because someone else on deviartart made one first. You can see it here:
fav.me/d4o8bh2It's a fantastic poster, and the original artist definitely deserves all the recognition for the idea, but I'm just wondering whether I -should- upload it or not. Would that be kind of dickish of me?
I just, I don't know what the moral code is for this sort of thing
Both posters are about as different as they could be, but they both use the same idea. So do I ask for permission to post it? Or do I just credit the idea to them in the description? Or heck, do I not post it at all?
Oh dear. Look at me moaning about my first world problems. Must be off.
You can see the poster here by the way:
